The violin's ability to play fast moving passages is put to great use in these moments. These notes can be written as the main focus of your composition, or they can be employed as exciting background for other instruments to play melodies over. In this next example, the previous ornamental figure is now used to provide excitement to a simple French Horn melody.
Notice how well the fast moving violins' part complements the slower moving French Horn's part.
