Note that the French horns play the chords in a different inversion than when the violins played them.

Finally the piece concludes, starting in bar 21, with the violins holding our mysterious Eb Augmented chord with a major 7:

These notes are restated one last time on beat 3 of that bar by the harp, celesta and synth bells:

Once again, we start with the major 7th of the chord, first an octave lower, and climb up the augmented chord to the major 7 on top.
