Usage

One of the more common reinforcements called upon for the piano is to add support to the basses and cellos. First listen to those strings by themselves:

Now listen to that same string section with the piano added:

As you've just heard, the heavy metallic tone from the piano's lower notes gives the basses and cellos an added bite.
