Using the Minor Chord: Example #2 (cont.)

You will notice that, in this example, we hear just as many minor chords as Major chords:

Yet the music doesn't sound sad. It sounds rather pleasant, even with all those minor chords. This is because the minor chords are only temporary passing chords.

Even if we held each minor chord a little longer, the music would still not feel sad. Because we start with a major chord, end with a major chord, and have another major chord in the middle, we balance out any sadness that minor chords typically evoke.
