You will see that all the notes of the ii, iii and vi chords are contained in your original C Major scale:

Remember that the ii chord, the iii chord and the vi chord are minor chords. Therefore, even though we are in a Major key (the key of C Major), we can still form minor chords, using various notes from this major scale.
