Adding More Parts

Bass

To balance out the rapid wooden and metallic sounds, we need to add a solid bass part.

As with the marimba parts, all the bass notes are from the Eb pentatonic scale.

Melody

We now have low, mid and high register sounds. All we need now is a melody. In keeping with our primitive sounding instrumentation, let's use an ethnic sounding flute:

Notice how well the flute blends with the wooden sounds of the marimba. And once again, the flute plays only the notes found in our Eb pentatonic scale.

It is interesting to note that both African and Asian cultures make use of the pentatonic scale. Therefore, this music would be appropriate to depict the jungles of both Africa and Asia.
