To take our hypnotic mood a step further, we can add a second marimba part with a different rhythm (and in a higher register):

Just like our Marimba 2 part, this Marimba 1 part uses only the notes from the Eb pentatonic scale. Now listen to these two marimba parts when played together:

Notice that the trance quality of the music is even stronger than before.

The marimbas provide a rich wooden tone. Let's add a bright metallic sound to the mix:

We are using a cowbell here, but any metallic percussion sound will work.
