Each Pentatonic scale consists of five different notes that ascend from the root in the following interval sequence: whole step; whole step; minor 3rd; whole step; minor 3rd:

Building a Pentatonic Scale

We can create a Pentatonic scale by simply removing two notes from a Major scale:
