 The Quirky Diminished Scale

As you might have guessed, the Diminished scale is very well suited to creating quirky, comical music. Let's listen to an example:

In this piece, the piano, vibraphone and electric bass play a single melody in three separate octaves.

As before, we've drawn every note from the C diminished scale.

Whether you want to evoke tension, mystery or fun, the Diminished scale can accommodate them all. That's quite an emotional range for one scale.
