This chord progression is a I-V-bVII-IV progression:

As you might have noticed, this chord progression is almost identical to our previous chord progression. The only difference is that we have added an additional chord - making this a four chord progression. The added chord is the V chord.

This progression can be used in either a pop or classical setting. Let's listen to this progression in a pop setting:

As you can see in this abbreviated orchestral score, the violins play the notes of the chords. The bassoon provides the root note of each chord, and the recorder plays the melody. As in our previous examples, the melody is simply built around the notes of each chord.
