On beat 4 of bar 3, we create even more dissonance when we have the cellos holding the F# while the violins play most of a G chord:

Also in bar 6, the basses hold a C note while the cellos start their melody, also on a C. On top of this, the violins play most of a G chord:

Playing a G chord on top of a C bass note establishes a very open and unresolved sound. This is helped in part by the major 7th interval that is created when the violins play a B note on top of the C bass note. Let's listen to that sound:
