The Whole Tone Scale (cont.)

To build an Augmented chord from a Whole Tone scale, first choose your whole tone scale. Let's pick the C Whole Tone scale:

Select any note in this scale. Count that note as number 1. From that note, find the number 3 note and the number 5 note of the scale. You now have an Augmented chord. (See the adjacent Theory Bit.)

Let's build one: Start on the note C of the C Whole Tone scale. Count that note as note number 1. The number 3 note is an E, and the number 5 note is a G#. Those three notes make a C Augmented chord.
