Major 6th Chords Built from a Major ScaleAs with a major chord, you can form three Major 6th chords from any Major scale. In Step 1, we built a Major 6th chord based on the root note (C) of the C Major scale. We can do the same thing starting from the 4th note and 5th note of any Major scale:
In the key of C, the 4th note is an F. We can construct an F Major 6th chord from this scale the same way we did the C Major 6th chord. Similarly, we can build a G Major 6th chord, using the same method we just used to construct the F Major 6th chord.
