The Minor 9th Chord

Minor chords can also be extended into 9th chords. For minor 9th chords, we don't often use the version with the Major 7th note. Though it can be used, it is not a harmony we will be discussing in this chapter.

As you can hear, it has a sweet, jazz like quality to it. Often, a sweet sounding melody is used to complement this harmony:
