Introduction

To create an undersea mood, we need to capture the fluid, rippling movement of the water, as well as establish a sense of great depth and vast open space. Both of these separate elements can be captured with just the right combination of instruments and notes.

Motion

Nothing quite captures the rippling movement of water as well as the harp. Listen to just the first two bars of the harp part:

In these two bars, the harp merely plays an E Major 7th chord in arpeggios.

We can add some sparkle to the sound with the addition of the celesta:

The celesta simply plays the notes of the E Major chord.
