Composing with the Whole Tone Scale 

In our last three chapters, we learned three new basic scales. Any one of those scales could be used exclusively to create an entire composition. But this next scale, the Whole Tone scale, is a little peculiar.

While the Whole Tone scale has a very unique and useful sound, it would be next to impossible to compose an entire composition using only this scale. It could be done, but you probably would tire of the sound over the course of an extended composition.
